This garden centre site,  once upon a time connected to a local Wigan garden centre,  now operates entirely from the Internet. Why? The bedding season begins around the beginning of May. Don’t be fooled by the inclement weather we often get in April. Frosts are still likely and you are not really safe with tender bedding plants until May1st. If you must get them in early then make sure you are prepared with plenty of ground cover protection like fleece or similar otherwise or your hard work will go to waste. Buy seed potatoes and onion sets in early in the year and our mid season potatoes around April- the tubers have been specially stored at low temperatures to ensure that later planting is possible. Vegetable plants available from April, most are home grown and organic.
